Government Schemes
The Government of Tamil Nadu offers higher education assistance schemes to encourage students from Government schools to continue their studies. Students of the Tamilnadu Institute of Labour Studies who satisfy the conditions can avail the benefits of the following schemes.
Post Matric Scholarship
Financial support for SC/ST, BC, MBC, and First Graduate students to pursue higher education.
Pudhumai Penn Thittam
புதுமைப் பெண் திட்டம் — Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Higher Education Assurance Scheme
Rs. 1,000 per month, credited directly to the student's bank account, until completion of higher education.
Eligibility
- Girl students who studied classes VI to XII in Government schools in Tamil Nadu.
- Pursuing Under Graduate degree, Diploma, ITI or equivalent courses.
- Admitted to a recognised institution in Tamil Nadu.
How to Apply
- Apply online through the Penkalvi portal after joining the course.
- Submit school study certificate, bank pass book, Aadhaar and admission proof.
- The Institute office assists students in verifying and forwarding the application.
Tamil Pudhalvan Thittam
தமிழ் புதல்வன் திட்டம் — for male students
Rs. 1,000 per month, credited directly to the student's bank account, for the full duration of the course.
Eligibility
- Male students who studied classes VI to XII in Government schools in Tamil Nadu.
- Pursuing higher education — Degree, Diploma, ITI or equivalent courses.
- Admitted to a recognised institution in Tamil Nadu.

- Apply online through the Tamil Pudhalvan portal after joining the course.
- Submit school study certificate, bank pass book, Aadhaar and admission proof.
- The Institute office assists students in verifying and forwarding the application.
